Wayne Donnell selected for Honor Flight Northeast Indiana

We are blessed and grateful for our own Wayne Donnell, who was part of the Honor Flight Northeast Indiana this past Wednesday, Sept. 27. Honor Fight is a way for veterans and their friends or family members (who accompany them as their “guardians” for the day) to visit Washington, DC, and pay their respects at the various memorials at no cost to the veteran. Wayne is a Korean War veteran, church member, and the loving and beloved husband of Helen Donnell, Peace Church’s former choir director.

Wayne’s loved ones and a contingent from our church family were at Fort Wayne International Airport on Wednesday evening to welcome him and dozens more veterans and their guardians back home to Northeast Indiana. We were able to shake their hands, shower them with applause, and express our gratitude. While we pray for the end to all wars, we also pray for and honor those who serve in them.
